### Frequently Asked Questions

<details>

<summary>Can I add testimonials manually?</summary>

No. Publishing fake or self-written reviews violates Shopify's policies and may put your store at risk. Reviews must reflect genuine customer experience and must not be written by the store owner, employees, or anyone with a conflict of interest.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I show different testimonials on different products?</summary>

Yes. Create a separate widget for each product or group of products, assign the relevant testimonials to it, and place each widget on the matching product page.

[Step-by-step guide →](/reputon-help/testimonials-slider-app/how-to/add-testimonials-to-different-products.md)

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I hide or delete negative testimonials?</summary>

Yes. You control which testimonials appear on your store. To hide a testimonial, open the app dashboard and unpublish or remove it from the widget. It will no longer be visible to your visitors.

Note that this only affects the widget on your store. If the review was imported from an external platform (Google, Etsy, Amazon, etc.), hiding it in the app does not remove it from the original platform.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I send automatic review requests after an order?</summary>

No, the Testimonials Slider app does not send automatic review requests. You can share your review request form manually via a link, email, or QR code.

If you want to send automatic post-purchase review request emails, check out our [Customer Reviews](https://apps.shopify.com/reputon-customer-reviews). It sends review requests to customers automatically after their order is fulfilled or delivered.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does the widget slow down my store?</summary>

No. The widget is optimized for performance and has no measurable impact on your store speed or Core Web Vitals. It loads asynchronously after the main page content, so it does not block page rendering. The script is lightweight, served via a global CDN, and images are lazy-loaded and compressed. The widget does not affect your LCP or CLS scores.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does the widget support multiple languages? Can I translate the widget texts?</summary>

Yes, you can localize the widget interface. All widget texts (labels, buttons, the review request form) can be translated into your store language in the widget settings.

Automatic translation of testimonial texts is not supported: testimonials are displayed in the language they were written in. If you need automatic review translation, this feature is available in our [Google Reviews](https://apps.shopify.com/google-reviews-by-reputon).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Will testimonials show up in Google search results (rich snippets / stars)?</summary>

No. The widget does not add structured data (schema markup) to your pages, so testimonials do not appear as star ratings in Google search results. The widget is designed to display social proof to visitors on your store pages.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does the widget work with my theme / page builder (PageFly, GemPages)?</summary>

Yes. The widget is compatible with all Shopify themes, including Online Store 2.0 themes, and works with popular page builders such as PageFly and GemPages. If you have any trouble placing the widget on your page, contact us via live chat and we will help you set it up.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What happens if I downgrade to the free plan?</summary>

The free plan includes up to 4 testimonials. If you downgrade, the 4 most recent testimonials will remain visible in the widget, and the rest will be hidden. Your testimonials are not deleted: if you upgrade again, all of them will be restored automatically.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://reputon.gitbook.io/reputon-help/testimonials-slider-app/reputon-testimonials-slider.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
