# Everything about Google Merchant reviews

### What are Google Merchant reviews?

Google Merchant reviews (also called **Seller Ratings**) are ratings about your *store as a seller*. They appear in Google Shopping ads and search results as star ratings under your brand name.

They are **not** the same as Google Business reviews, which are reviews about a store on Google Maps.

### How to add Google Merchant reviews

1. Go to `+Add business` and select `Add Merchant Reviews`
2. Enter your store domain
3. Save and configure your widget
4. Disable the "Leave a review" button. In the widget settings, **turn off the "Leave a review" button**. Google Merchant does not have a direct review submission page.

### No reviews showing?

If the widget shows no reviews after connecting your domain, here are the most common reasons:

1. **Not enough reviews yet.**

Google requires a minimum of **100 verified reviews** before Seller Ratings appear publicly. If your store is new or has fewer than 100 Merchant reviews, the widget will show nothing, This is Google's threshold, not the app's.

2. **Approval not yet received.**

Once you have 50+ reviews, you need to [submit an approval request to Google](https://support.google.com/merchants/troubleshooter/10994881). Approval can take several weeks. Reviews won't display until Google approves your account for Seller Ratings.

### How to collect Google Merchant reviews

Merchant reviews come from the **Google Customer Reviews** (GCR) program, a free Google service that sends a post-purchase survey to customers after they buy from your store.

REQUIREMENTS TO GET STARTED

1. **Google Merchant Center account**, your store must be registered and active at [merchants.google.com](https://merchants.google.com)
2. **Verified website ownership**. Google must verify that you own the domain
3. **Opt in to Google Customer Reviews**, enable it in Merchant Center under *Growth → Manage programs → Customer Reviews*
4. **Add the checkout extension**, install Google Reviews checkout widget to show the survey opt-in after purchase.
